White Blackbird

A poker column
by Gary Carson

Today we started putting some content in the Tournament Section. We havn't yet started tournament coverage, but we've included a couple of links to some rgp posts that Mike Caro has made on tournaments. As on many topics, Mike has some non-mainstream thoughts on tournaments.
In the Poker Theory and Strategy Section we recently started a collection of links to some classic rgp posts by Abdul Jalib that can be found in the Dejanews archives. We'll be adding to the list from time to time. If you've got any favorites, let us know.
Recently, we updated our Poker Links Section with a short review of internet poker discussion groups: web-based forums, chat rooms, email groups, and newsgroups.
The most recent column in the Beginning Poker Player Section is about catching a bluff.

Sandia Casino

Albuquerque, New Mexico

I'm planning a trip to Albuquerque later this month (February 99) and will be spending a good bit of my time in some of the poker rooms around Albuquerque and Sante Fe. In preparation for the trip I did a little Internet research to see what kind of card playing conditions I should expect. In this column I'm going to share some of the information with you. When I get back I'll update this with a report on the trip.

Whenever you're planning a trip to a new cardroom, the newsgroups Rec.Gambling.Poker is a good place to start. Trip reports and comments on various cardrooms is a common discussion thread on that newsgroup.
